ABOUT

CHASITY VERRET MARTINEZ

Chasity has worked on the front lines of substance abuse and recovery support, including years spent assisting inmates in the local jail. She served four years with the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office and later worked as a Victim Assistance Coordinator for District Attorney Ricky Ward. She understands the justice system from the inside and has helped families during some of their most difficult moments. She is also an active volunteer with ARC Iberville, making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

Today, she works in industry and maritime operations, serving as an outside salesperson for American Supply Company and part-time for Florida Marine. Her experience across public service, industry, and community work gives her a broad understanding of the challenges facing District 60.

In 2023, Chasity defeated a 22-year incumbent to win the Iberville Parish Council District 10 seat, proving that voters want fresh leadership rooted in real-life experience and community values.

A proud outdoorswoman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and life along the river, Chasity is running for State Representative for District 60 to fight for working families, strengthen local services, and ensure that the voices of Iberville and Assumption Parishes are heard.

Chasity Verret Martinez was born and raised in Bayou Sorrel  and has spent her life serving the people of Iberville and the river parishes. Inspired by her grandfather, Donald Lee Pierce, who served as constable in Bayou Sorrel, she grew up with a strong belief in community and public service.

Chasity is a wife, mother of two, and a dedicated community advocate.  She opened a community pantry that provides food, diapers, wipes, and hygiene items to families in need. The pantry has quickly become a trusted resource and reflects her hands-on approach to helping others.
